Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a vasoproliferative disease of the retina that occurs in preterm and low birth weight babies. It is becoming more common in Nigeria as a result of better neonatal survival rates. SCREENING and prompt TREATMENT are vital for preventing blindness from ROP.
